What is NCOALink?
NCOALink is the USPS product that lets licensed software match a mailing list against the change-of-address records people file with the Postal Service, so you can update or flag the addresses of people who moved. NCOALink explained.
What does NCOALink certified mean?
It means MaxMover meets USPS standards for change-of-address software and uses the official USPS NCOALink data to update mailing lists.
How many change-of-address records does MaxMover check against?
More than 160 million COA records in the USPS NCOALink database, which USPS updates weekly.
What's the difference between 18-month and 48-month data?
18-month data covers moves filed in the last 18 months and is used by Limited Service Provider and End User Mailer licensees. 48-month data covers four years of moves and is available through Full Service Provider licensees. MaxMover supports both.
What is ANKLink and why does it matter?
ANKLink is an optional extension to 18-month NCOALink processing. It tells you a person moved in months 19 through 48, even though the new address isn’t provided, so you can suppress the record or research it before mailing. USPS makes it available to Limited Service Providers and End User Mailers.
Does MaxMover help with USPS Move Update compliance?
Yes. MaxMover is compliant with USPS Move Update requirements. To claim presorted or automation prices for First-Class Mail and USPS Marketing Mail, USPS requires lists to be updated within 95 days before the mailing date.
Do I need to run CASS processing first?
Yes. USPS requires CASS processing on a list before Move Update processing, so addresses are standardized before they’re matched.
Can MaxMover apply and append new addresses?
Yes. You can apply updates by overwriting outdated addresses, or append the new address alongside the original for review and tracking.
Which NCOALink license types does MaxMover support?
Full Service Provider, Limited Service Provider and End User Mailer licenses, with optional ANKLink where your license allows it.
Do I need to install anything?
MaxMover is delivered as a cloud-hosted subscription that runs in your web browser, so there are no local installations or servers to maintain.
Can MaxMover handle large files?
Yes. It’s built for bulk processing and can work through millions of records quickly.
